  • Fish Oil and its benefits

    The general perception about fats is that a) they are bad for health and b) they increase a person’s bad and therefore a lot of people cut them out of their diet. There are basically two types of fats: a) unsaturated (the good kind) and b) saturated (the bad kind) this is where fish oil makes an entry

    On a basic level, fish oil consists of omega-3 fatty acids and omega-6 fatty acids. Both these acids are polyunsaturated fats  i.e. these fats are not only important for the metabolic processes to occur but they also have beneficial effects of the different systems in the body as mentioned below:

    • ·         Fish oil plays an important role in lowering the risks for various cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, and stroke. That is due to the fact this substance increases blood circulation and reduces the blood triglyceride (bad kind of fat) and therefore on the whole causes the blood pressure to return to its normal level.
    • ·         Fish oil helps in reducing the risk for different types of cancers such as prostate cancer and breast cancer and different researches have taken place over it to prove it
    • ·         Fish oil, most importantly, helps in psychiatric disorders such as depression, which has become very widespread and hence leads to complications n life and otherwise
    • ·         Age related problems such as arthritis or dementia can be easily combated by usage of fish oil and lead to a healthier and more active life.

    Fish oil is again an organic substance that can be consumed to lead a successful, healthy and disease free life.
