Nov 14, 2013 Difference Between Eye Cream vs. Face Cream Taking a walk through any beauty department can leave you confused about what sort of face and eye cream you may need. Cosmetic companies have a great amount of moisturizers, creams, gels and rejuvenating serums, but many don’t know which is right for them or why they need different kinds for different places on their face. Two of the most important creams in the cosmetic department are face cream and eye cream. Face cream is designed to bring moisture to the skin and retain it for plumping out fine lines and protection. The skin around the eye area is very different than the face and neck. It is much thinner and lacks oil glands. The ingredients in eye cream are created to address puffiness or dark circles to soften the skin but not over plump and are usually not as heavy or thick as a face cream would be. Ingredients are the main component as to why face cream differs from an eye cream. Both are intended to provide hydration, minimizing wrinkles and lastingly revitalizing the skin but in different areas of the face.
